Lead Developer

  • Direct the technical architecture across 9 research projects and roughly 30 team members building Storiza, an AI-powered digital literacy platform for elementary-age students.
  • Architect and maintain full-stack systems in React, Firebase, and Google App Engine, delivering scalable AI-powered applications serving elementary-age users in production.
  • Design and implement NLP, speech recognition, and generative AI pipelines, including automated reading assessment generation, real-time pronunciation feedback, and multi-story narrative systems.

Research Assistant

  • Own the research-to-production lifecycle, translating findings in self-regulated learning and AI-driven education into deployed, student-facing features.
  • Co-author on a peer-reviewed paper accepted to NCME AIME-Con 2026 on automated reading comprehension assessment.
  • Served as Scrum Master for two research teams, leading sprint planning and coordination between developers, designers, and stakeholders.

Research

Project MAZE: Automated Generation and Scoring of Reading Comprehension Assessments

Sept 2025 – present

Faculty mentor: Dr. Walter L. Leite · SHDOSE, College of Education, University of Florida

  • Co-developed four versions of an automated MAZE comprehension test, using three novel LLM-based distractor-generation methods plus a dictionary-based control, deployed and administered inside a production reading application.
  • Developing scoring models that normalize for word complexity and item difficulty so scores remain comparable across automatically generated passages.
  • Conducting reliability and validity analyses, including alternate-form reliability, internal consistency, and correlations with established measures of reading comprehension.

Publications & presentations

  • Co-author, “Automated Generation and Scoring of Maze Reading Comprehension Assessments.” Accepted through peer review for presentation at the NCME Artificial Intelligence in Measurement and Education Conference (AIME-Con), October 5–7, 2026, Pittsburgh, PA.

Online Cluster Mapping

Independent project

  • Web-scraped and cross-referenced millions of posts and interactions into a SQLite database for structured analysis.
  • Generated cluster graphs to identify interest groups and detect user behavior patterns.
  • Performed semantic analysis on clusters for applications in community analysis, bot detection, and market research.

  • Production React/Firebase/Google App Engine platform serving elementary classrooms, with generative AI narrative, speech-based reading practice, and embedded formative assessment.
